The Creek is crystal clear, icy cold & magnificent. One of my favorite Nebraska State Recreation Areas. The bathroom was clean & there was plenty of t paper.
Nice tent campsites right by Long Pine Creek. All tent sites have a fire ring. Some of the tent sites have covered picnic tables. The pad sites were on the small side but seemed to be nice and secluded. There is a short one-mile level hike along the creek. There are a few tent campsites on that trail if you want to pack your gear in to be extra secluded. There are only vault toilets. Somebody keeps them reasonably cleaned and stocked. The truck traffic on Highway 20 can be a bit noisy, but it dies down at night. The stream (Sept 2016) was about a foot deep, crystal clear and fast moving. I had no luck fishing there, although I did see some smaller fish here and there.
